Our Favorite Supplements

Nowadays there are a million different types of supplements that are on the market. That means it's literally impossible to find something you like. The best way to go about finding the perfect line of supplements is to try many different ones. To help you decide which brands to go with, I put together three of my favorites!

MuscleSport
MuscleSport is currently one of my favorite supplement brands at the moment. They have everything from Protein to Pre-Workout. Our favorite product from them is their Lean Whey Revolution. They have a selection of flavors from CinnaCrunch to Protella. They offer many cereal flavors and some of them have chunks of goodies in it! Not only are the flavors amazing, their protein also has a fat burning blend that helps shed that extra belly fat. Overall, this is definitely one of the top brands for us.

NutraBio
The second brand that we've fallen in love with is NutraBio. NutraBio offers a wide variety of supplements as well. One of the major reasons that NutraBio gained publicity in the industry is from their full label disclosure. This means that everything in their supplement is on their label. Also - there are no extra additives or fillers. What you pay for is what you get. People love reassurance when it comes to supplements to make sure they know what they're intaking. NutraBio also has some killer flavors as well. The next time you're at a supplement store, be sure to ask about them!

1st Phorm
Last but definitely not least is 1st Phorm. If you're familiar with 1st Phorm, you'd know that they definitely don't mess around. This company means business, that's for sure. 1st Phorm produces the highest quality of supplements in the industry, and their pricing justifies that. Many people often cheap out on supplements and if you're trying to reach your goal, it's not a good idea. 1st Phorm's supplements may be expensive, but if you want to better yourself, sometimes you have to take that route. There are many transformation stories through 1st Phorm and you'd be amazed at how effective their line is. Ask about 1st Phorm the next time you stop at a retailer for more information!

I hope these three suggestions help you decide which brand to choose next. It can be hard especially if you're not familiar with each ingredient in the product. That's what we're here for. If you ever have any questions on which supplement to choose for your goals, leave a comment and we'll be sure to get to you as soon as possible!

If you've been following our other social media accounts, you'd know that this past week's theme was our favorite bodybuilders of all time! In this blog, I will go over who our top bodybuilder is and a little information about him!

Arnold Schwarzenegger is at the top of our list of bodybuilders. Arnold is originally from Austria and moved to America at the age of 21. Living in America was his dream and bodybuilding helped him achieve it.

The Top 3 Supplements

If you've seen our posts this week, you may notice that the theme is based on the best supplements for your money. Supplements can often be very expensive, and that's why we're here. To help you save money to better yourself. To keep a little extra money in your wallet, we've put together a list of the top three supplements for the money!

Source

First on the list of money savers is a good Whey Protein. Yes, that means you can get high-quality protein for under $40. Whey protein is a popular supplement in the industry. Protein helps your muscles repair themselves, restore glycogen levels, and provides other nutrients after a session of weightlifting. The best whey protein to save some dough is Optimum Nutrition's 100% Gold Standard Whey. For the quality of protein, Optimum has this priced incredibly well. You get all of the nutrients you need for a great price.

Next on the list, we have Creatine Monohydrate. Creatine monohydrate is the most scientifically proven supplement in the industry. With benefits including increased muscle growth and improved performance. Luckily for you, creatine isn't a very expensive supplement. But of course, we had to find the best quality on the market for the best price. Best bang for your buck for creatine is Optimum Nutrition's Micronized Creatine powder. This powder is unflavored and that means you can mix it with whatever you want!

Last but not least is a multivitamin. If you don't already take a multivitamin, I highly recommend that you look into it. If you think about it, are you really getting all the vitamins and minerals that you need throughout the day? If you're questioning this, you may need to grab a bottle of some of the best multivitamins for you. Our personal favorite is PEScience's TruMulti. For the price and quality of ingredients, you just can't go wrong.

I hope these top three supplements help get you on your feet with your fitness journey and money saving. There's nothing worse than realizing you're almost out of that protein powder or creatine and payday is a week out. Stop worrying about prices, we're here to help!

Spring Break Recuperation

For some, Spring Break is over, but there is a select few that are enjoying their week off of classes with a drink in their hand. That means you may be rocking a hangover. I bet you're wondering why we brought this up, and that's because we want you to feel the best you've ever felt after a full week of downing Vodka Redbulls.

The first step is to figure out if you're dehydrated or not. This is an easy task. If you your head rushes when you stand up, this may be a sign. Regardless of being dehydrated or not, you should probably drink some water just to stay safe. Step one, down three medium-sized glasses of water.

Step number two is to eat something healthy. I know, a juicy Hangover Burger with a sunny side up egg sounds like the best choice, but greasy food will NOT get rid of your headache. What you really need is Gatorade, a warm bowl of Chicken Noodle soup, and some toast. This doesn't sound very filling, but I can guarantee that you will feel like taking over the world after this light meal.

The third and last step is to grab a power nap. Of course, do this after you treat yourself with some soup. If you don't have time to take a nap, don't worry. Your body will slowly take advantage of the newly found electrolytes and put them to work.

These three steps will be sure to turn your hangover around for the better. Spring Break may have lead to some weight gain and bank account losses. We can help you with losing those couple extra pounds, but we will not be able to fix your dough. Stay updated on our Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter for tips on saving money on supplements and shedding off that Freshmen 15.

YourSupps Trial Partners with NAfME!

If you're not aware, March is National Music in Our Schools Month! We believe that music is one of the best things to teach children at an early age. It's the one thing that will never leave your side. No matter what type of music you listen to, it also has an effect on you as a person.

To keep music alive and well in our schools moving forward, we will be donating 25% of every order on our website to nafme.org! Not only will this help keep music within our schools, it will also help schools receive newer equipment.

You know how music has that amazing effect on you in and out of the gym? Now imagine the effect it has on a student! When I was in school, band class was the one class I looked forward to going to every day. Without that, students wouldn't have a way to express themselves musically. Let's help keep that alive!

Macronutrients

If you're familiar with fitness and weightlifting, you may have heard the word "macros" or macronutrients said a few times. If you're unsure of the exact meaning of what a macronutrient is, let me give you some insight. According to Dictionary.com, a macronutrient is "any of the nutritional components of the diet that are required in relatively large amounts: protein, carbohydrate, fat, and macrominerals."

As a fitness enthusiast, I am constantly counting my macros. Macronutrients help make up your daily caloric intake. If you don't meet your macronutrients per day, you may not be getting all of the nutrients that your body needs to function correctly. To figure out what your daily macros should be, use this calculator to help determine a starting point.

You're probably wondering what the best way to count your macros would be. Many people use MyFitnessPal, which is the first app that I used when I started to lose weight. Although I do like the ease of MyFitnessPal and the countless meals in their directory, I do not like that I can't manually set my macros. The app that I use now is My Macros+. I switched to this app because I can now set my macros to the desired amount unlike on MyFitnessPal. Determining which app to use when counting macros come down to which app is easier for you to use.

If you are looking to lose weight or to make sure you're getting your daily intake of the right nutrients, then learning about your macros and counting them is the way for you. Counting your macros and calorie intake is essential when working towards building a healthy lifestyle. I hope this blog helped give you some insight on what exactly macros are and why someone would count them! As always, if you have any questions about your macros or fitness in general, don't be afraid to leave a comment.

Whey Isolate or Whey Concentrate?

There's a lot of commotion going on about which form of whey protein is the "best" form. Many people think that Whey Isolate protein is better because of its pricing. The reason Isolate is more expensive than Concentrate is that, well, Isolate is filtered for the removal of lactose within the powder.

The best answer to this question is that it really just comes down to personal preference. If you have the extra cash to buy a tub of Whey Isolate, then shoot for that, but if you're trying to save a couple bucks, Whey Concentrate won't hurt. Afterall, supplements help supplement your health. You're already doing your body a favor by intaking more protein than the average Joe gets from their food - unless they eat a lot of meat.

So, what makes Whey Isolate the overall "better" protein? Well, the main difference between the two is the quality of protein. In Whey Concentrate, the protein content can range from 10-15% with 50% of it being lactose and about 2% fat. Whey Isolate offers a better protein content of 90% and under 1% of lactose fat. In the end, you really do pay for the quality of protein.

Stick to the protein that has worked for you. But, don't be afraid to try new things! If in the end, you prefer Isolate over Concentrate, then stick to it. Now, go and crush those goals!

How to Grow Calves?

One of the hardest muscles to grow on your body, next to abs, are your calves. The main reason they are so hard to gain mass is that they sustain your body weight daily. So what does that mean?

Your legs are the reason you are able to walk, stand, and everything else you need to balance. That means that your calves are used to your body weight daily. So, in order to gain mass in this muscle group, you have to train heavy. While training heavy, also try to focus on high volume reps as well. The key is to fatigue the muscle. Rip those muscle fibers!

If you already have decently sized calves, then quit lying. Seriously though, another key to big calves are your genetics. There are some people out there that were just given big calves. I will forever be envious. For everyone else looking to get some size, check out these workouts - they will help tremendously!

Skip Gym on Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is finally upon us. If you completely forgot, you're welcome. Make sure to get your love a bouquet of roses and some chocolates, because chances are, she knows you forgot. Anyways, let's get to the real problem of the day. Should you skip the gym on Valentine's Day?

I've heard this statement many times today. The answer is quite simple... Absolutely not! Instead of skipping out on the gym and stuffing your face with chocolate, take your significant other with you to the gym!

Wake up early and take your boo to the gym with you. This means you'll have someone to spot you on the bench and also someone to show off to when setting a new weight record. Chances are she will really love it. Now, just because you took her to the gym, doesn't mean you don't have to take her somewhere fancy for dinner. The whole reason for going to the gym extra early is to be able to eat a little extra chocolate and have a juicy burger!

So, instead of skipping out on the gains you could be gaining, build some muscle with your boo, and then treat yourselves to a wonderful night. I can guarantee you that your Valentine's Day will be a success.
